When you are cleansed by the blood of Calvary, the Holy Spirit begins to prepare you for soul winning.
The apostle Paul asked certain disciples and believers, "Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost" (Acts 19:2).
Why is receiving the Holy Spirit so vital?
It is essential because no one can be an effective witness without the Spirit's enabling power.
Friend, if you have never asked God to baptize you with the Holy Spirit, let me give you these simple steps:
Step One: You must acknowledge the death of Christ as the only and all-sufficient grounds for the pardon of your sin.
Step Two: You must confess and forsake all iniquity. When you ask the Lord to search your heart, He brings hidden sins to your attention so you can renounce them---no matter how entrenched they are in you. In order to receive the baptism of God's power, you must totally walk away from every sin.
Step Three: Ask the Lord to fill you with His Spirit according to Luke 11:13, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

Step Four: Receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in faith. Jesus declares, "What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:24).
Step Five: Surrender completely to the Spirit as you yield your whole body to Him. "Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your member as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God" (Romans 6:12-13).
God's Word tells us that once the disciples in Ephesus received the touch of the Holy Spirit, a glorious spiritual move began, and many came to Christ: "So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed" (Acts 19:20).
Do you truly desire to bring people to Christ? If so, you must be ready and willing to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. It's the secret to soul winning.
